WELCOME TO ASIAN SAMBO FEDERATION (ASF)

The Asian SAMBO Federation (ASF) is a member of International Amateur SAMBO Federation (FIAS) and is a officially recognized continental federation responsible for SAMBO development in Asia. As of 15 May 2007, only 8 countries were members of ASF.
At the historical ASF Congress held on 1 June 2007, Mr. Fazliddin Pulatov (Uzbekistan) was elected President and 11 new countries were admitted, increasing ASF membership to a total of 19 countries. This is just a beginning and our mid term target is to increase the number of members to 30 countries within the next 2 years.
This site launched in MAY 2007 is dedicated to the promotion of SAMBO and represents a pilot project aimed at gathering and disseminating information on national member federations’ activity, continental news and interesting SAMBO personalities, not only in Asia but throughout the world.
We are also committed to better understand developmental problems that may arise in promoting SAMBO, and how solutions can be found. These problems and solutions are expected to be country-specific and region-specific. Over the years, it is also expected that new topics and partners will also be of concern. One anticipated issue of concern is how SAMBO can be included as a program under the Olympic Games.
Within a year we are expecting to initiate a number of comprehensive bilingual Internet sites, where member countries will be able to get all the required information on SAMBO, as well as actual news of international sport life.
The aims we put forward are achievable only with informational support from the SAMBO National Federations - ASF, FIAS members, SAMBO clubs and all SAMBO fans, who interested in developing and strengthening this sport.
